Life today has changed very much from those, which existed years before. Science and technology have brought several changes to this modern era. As a result life has become faster than ever before. But all such mechanical developments adversely affected human mind and body. At this juncture we realise the need to encourage Ayurveda and related curing science. Because Ayurvedic centres are not usual places offering treatment but is a science with spiritual comfort. Thus the Ayurvedic way of living became not a luxury but a necessity in today's fast moving era.
'Amrutha Ayurveda Centre' in the heart of Kochi engaged in the traditional Ayurvedic treatment to provide mental and physical health to the needy. Its aim is to increase the health status of human beings and to make them aware of the same. Dr. Vasanthy Surendran, the only woman masseur in Kerala who perform 'Chavitti Thirummal', owns 'Oushadhi' (Agent: Govt of Kerala). As it was associated with men, women are excluded from this 'marma chikitsa'. And her persistence to learn the same has made her an exception in this male dominated field. She mastered the technique from her Guru Vasu Gurukkal by years of training. Now she has become one of the most sought after masseurs of Kerala. And today more foreigners are coming here not only for massage but to master and propagate it abroad. And people like Ilaria Getiluchy from Italy who mastered the art from Vasanthy Surendran can be sited one among many in this regard. And her patience attains nirvana under her feet when with superb skill she performs 'Chavitti thirummal'. The Ayurvedic treatment has become the new mantra for relief and is prescribed for healthy and peaceful living. |
