The H.J.S.Group of of companies was launched in 1953 with the pioneering efforts of Janab Hajee Jaffer Shariff Saheb. Mr.Shariff had previously traded in Silk Waste in his individual capacity. He was businessman of high repute andhas been closely associated with the silk trade for more than 50 years. He is very ably supported by Mr.Nisar Pasha, who is the Managing Director of the Group and a Chartered Accountant by profession. Today, the Group has interests in Silk, Granite and Electronic Components.
The Group manufactures spun silks from Silk Wastes at their modern plant in Ramanagaram employing new-generation know-how from Japan, Korea and Italy. The Silk Waste is also exported globally.
Activities in the Electronic business include manufacture of vital electronic components - Ceramic Disc Capacitors - with technology from France.
Guided by vision and dynamic leadership, the Group continues to forge ahead with a turnover that touches Rs.300 million today and expected to cross Rs.500 million. There are also plans to diversify into manufacture of silk fabrics of international standards.
The conglomerate is armed with over two decades of experience in quarrying and owns quarries in various parts of South India. Jet Black in Chamarajnagar and Kollegal, Imperial and Ruby Red in Ilkal, Multicolour in Kanakapura, Grey Quarries in Chintamani - Karnatka, Blue from Sikakulam district and Black Galaxy in Ongole - Andhra Pradesh. The rough blocks are in greta demand in the international market and are exported to various parts of the world including Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China, Canada, Europe, Far East and Middle East Countries.
Enormous success in the quarrying activities has led the Group to diversify into the cutting and polishing of granites, processing slab, tiles and monuments. We also process various items like Paving Stones, Kerbs, Cobble Stones in varying colours such as Pink, Grey, Black and yellow which are well established in the market today. These products are also being exported to reputed companies worldwide.
New generation technology and state-of-the-art machinery (Equipment & Gangsaws from Gaspari Menotti, Italy and 17 ghead line polisher and bridge cutting machine from Breton, Italy) for processing have been acquired. Able, efficient management and experienced technical skills enable on-time deliveries of international quality standards products. The group has its own warehouse in U.A.E. to meet requirements in the Gulf region. We also have ambitious plans to open warehouses in other parts of the world to serve them right at their door-steps.
