Under the Canopy of the Tamarind Tree

Manava Seva is Madhava Seva - these words ring in the ears of Smt.Samyuktha Mahesh and a vision is borh - Tamarind Tree Project is implemented with able and understanding assistance of her husband Captain.V.V.Mahesh, a professional Pilot who commanded the Jumbo Jet Boeing-747 of Air India and retired as Deputy Director- Operations. They gifted half an acre of land for construction of a beautiful Sri.Shirdi Sai Temple in the Sylvan surroundings of Hunsemaradapalya, near Kengeri on the outskirts of Bangalore City Far from the madding crowd.

From a small seed grows sapling. A sapling straightens up into a tree with small leaves of many braches. We have the canopy of the Tamarind Tree.

As they say service broadens the heart and widens one's vision. It fills one with joy, promotes unity and proclaims the Truth of the spirit.

With single minded devotion and dedication the couple realised their dream of building a modest Sri.Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir where Sri Sai Baba's Marble Murthi is installed which spreads positive divine vibrations.

Divine grace brings in like minded people to lend a helping hand in directly touching the people. Around the Mandir, grows the Multifaceted activities of the couple and their wide circle of friends. Prevailing poverty, poor healthcare and illiteracy of the villagers living nearby areas melts the heart of this dedicated couple. They decide to bring about spiritual change and transformation, Association change and Individual change in the surrounding villages. they embark on a service oriented scheme to elevate and educate the poor children round about the villages.

A trained teacher of over 15 years standing Smt.Samyuktha conducts spoken English classes to the children who gather in all eagerness in the modest multipurpose shed they have constructed.

Along with the literacy classes they also serve palatable and sumptuous food to ensure healthy growth of the children.

On Sundays the poor elderly sick come with many pains to the Health Care Centre. A group of dedicated doctors such as Air Marshall P.M.Sundaram, Group Captain V.K.Seth, Dr.V.Shivkumar and few others attend to the health care of these marginalized and side-lined sections of society with loving care and compassion.

The committed couple have also undertake a scheme to instil a sense of self-reliance and make women independent earning.

Members of society which give them self confidence and a status in life. Tailoring classes are being conducted by expert teachers. This job oriented vocational course enable these girls to join the garment manufacturing companies nearby.

We are sure their efforts will have casuading effort on the:

    We know this is only a ripple, yet it is the small ripples that make a wave. yes - the Tamarind leaves are small but the tree with many myriad leaves in the village give protection and shelter to all those who come under its canopy. This noble and laudable venture of the couple in the years tomcome. We are sure, will enthuse many men and women of goodwill and like minded philanthropists to extend their helping hand in making this Tamarind Tree grow stronger, taller and wider which will make a great impact on society.
