The Cash Pharmacy is a monument that's been a mute witness for the rapid changes taking place in Bangalore for the past 94 years. The Cash Pharmacy located on about 2500 sq.ft. area in the city, even today is a hub of activities. More so because of its competency in providing each and every drug which may not be available even in other pharmacy outlets in the city or elsewhere. According to available facts the outlet was established by a British gentleman named Cash in the year 1908 which was later managed by Dr.M.N.Mahadevan.
However, it was taken ever by an industrialist G.Rajagopal in 1955 at a time when there were very few pharmacy outlets in Bangalore. This, in later years became his family business and today it s promoted by G.Rajendra Prasad, its managing partner.
Customer service has been the mantra of this huge facility. The Cash Pharmacy has pioneered preparations of ointments and lotions done according to doctor's prescription especially for skin diseases. This is one of our unique features. Our pharmacists basically use a range of chemicals and petroleum jelly as main components for manufacturing these ointments, says the 65 years old Rajendra Prasad.
The Pharmacy today gets business for its preparations from almost all leading skin specialists in and outside Bangalore which accounts for about 10-15 per cent of its total business. In the growing city with over 3000 pharmacy retail outlets, Cash Pharmacy sees no threat for its business. It has maintained is reputation over the years by supplying standard drugs of popular brands and life saving drugs.
Says Prasad, We do not venture into products manufactured with poor quality and low standard. Our service motto has given our customers the required confidence and this has made us stand in the number one position in terms of turnover not in Bangalore and probably in the whole of South India. We shall strive to keep our hard earned reputation even in future. With over 500 customers on an average from all over the city on a daily basis and around 10 staff including qualified pharmacists, Cash Pharmacy serves people with the entire range of medicines. |
