An ambrosia called Ayurveda has sanctified this earth with its manifold benefits and has brought upon lasting happiness to manklnd. Ayurveda has always strived to give man comfort in all aspects of life. Life is the conglomeration of body, senses, mind and soul. Compatibility and Co-ordinance among these four units has been considered as health. A glimpse of the nature of man, magnanimity of mind and inevitability of thinking to make a choice in the face of an alternative 'Life or death' which implies HEALTH OR UNHEALTH in Ayurveda.
Through centuries of scourges and disaster brought about by the attack of invaders on the wonderful land in the history of mankind - India, every premise be it, science, art, cult, morality, spritually, philosophy, aristocracy or medicines, have been targeted towards dilution and destruction. It is probably the prayers and blessings of the country's sages which has been answered in protecting the sanctity of the basic premises from adultery.
Men is a being of volitional consciousness who has no automatic course of behaviour. Man's mind is the basic tool or his survival. Life is given to him, survival is not. His body is given to him, its sustenance is not. His mind is given to him, its content is not. So far a human being the question 'to be or not to be' is the question to think or not to think'. To remain alive he must act, and before he can act he must know the nature and purpose of his action. He cannot obtain his food without a knowledge or food and of the way to obtain it. To act he needs a code of values to guide his actions. 'Value' presupposes an answer to the question of value to whom and for what? Where there are no alternatives, no values are possible.
There is only one fundamental alternative in the Universe: Existence or Non existence and it pertains to a single class of entities: to living organisms. The existence of in animate matter is unconditional the existence of life is not, it depends on a specific course of action. Matter is indestructible. It changes its forms, but it cannot cease to exist. It is only a living organism that faces a constant alternative: the issue of life or death. Life is a process or self sustaining and self-generated action. If an organism fails In that action, it dies; its chemical elements remain, but its life goes out of existence. It is only the concept of 'Life' that makes the concept of 'Value possible. Its only to a living entity that things can be good or evil.
A plant must feed itself in order to live; the sunlight, the water, the chemicals it needs are the values, its nature has set it to pursue, its life is the standard of value directing its actions. But a plant has no choice of action, there are alternatives in the conditions it encounters like a bad seed or earth, lack of sunlight or water, but there is no alternative in its function; it acts automatically to further its life, it cannot act for its own destruction.
An animal is equipped for sustaining its life, its senses provide with an automatic code, of action an automatic knowledge or what is good for it or evil. Thereby we find instances of animals choosing its medicine from nature to ward out its disease. But it has no power to extend its knowledge or to evade it. In conditions where its knowledge proves inadequate, it dies. But so long as it lives, it acts on its knowledge with automatic safety end no power of choice, it is unable to ignore its own god, unable to decide to choose the evil and act as its own destroyer.
A living entity that regarded its means of survival as evil, would not survive. A plant that struggled to mangle its roots, a bird that fought to break its wings would not remain for long in the existence, they affronted. Man who tries to negate his mind will no longer remain a men.
Man has been called a rational being, bin rationality is matter of choice - and the alternative his nature offers him Is: rational being or suicidal animal. Man has to be man-by choice; he has to hold his life as a value - by choice: he has to learn to sustain it by choice.
Man's life requires a specific course of action which is the appraisal of his basic instinctive qualities, which is the state of an animal into emotional sanctity, which makes him an ordinary man further into intellectual perfection which makes, him an extra ordinary man, into intuitive genius which entitles him to super humanness and accomplishing the ultimatum the inspirational God-hood which is a state the Hindu philosophy calls Moksha or Nirvana.
A journey into the realm of reality of exact values of good and bad, found In the only rational mode of living available to mankind since the birth of the earth is Ayurveda.
To accomplish this rational living, establishing rationalized society is a must, enriched with retionalized human beings. In such a society, health is a necessary, which is provided by Ayurveda the way of life by its twin propaganda - Promotion and Preservation of health; Prevention and cure or diseases, through simple tips of a perfect daily regimen, seasonal regimen and good code of conduct to achieve a completely balanced hundred years of wholesome healthy life.

Kaya Chikitsa (Internal Medicine)
The branch deals with body metabolism which is responsible for the constructive growth of the body. These metabolic activities when disturbed lead to various diseases like:-
Jaundice, Piles, Acidity, Constipation, Enteric fever
Gout, Arthritics, Esonophilia, Alzemaria, Asthma, Herpes, Skin diseases
Tuberculosis, Diabetes, Cancer etc.
These, diseases are effectively managed with 2 types of treatments called Shodhana (Body cleaning) and Shamana therapies (Palliative).
Bale Chikitsa (Paediatrics):
This branch deals exclusively with pre-natal, neo-netal, primary and adoloscent stages of a child's life.
Graha (Supernatural influences on mind):
This is a special branch which deals with psychological, para-psychological and meta-psychological disorders, which occurs due to irrational thinking, injudicious food and indiscrete behaviour due to professional stress or unable to overcome the problems faced in professional or in domestic front.
Urdhwanga (ENT, Dental and Ophthalmology):
This branch deals with all the diseases occurring in the organs above the clavicle bone like ear, nose, throat, eyes, mouth teeth, head, etc.
